We are Restocked!!

We picked up pork yesterday!!

    It was a long day, but I was joined by my 13 year old son, so that was nice. It is nearly a 2 hour drive to our processor, but they are the best around here. The owners even came out to introduce themselves to me yesterday. They told me folks from Tennessee and Georgia even use them. They are THAT great! 

So, when we arrive, we let them know we are there and pay our bill . Then I drive to the back and they bring out my meat on a dolly full of trays.  I then unload those into my coolers.  If you want to see what I'm talking about, check out this YouTube video.

This time it was nice to have help from my son. Also, nice to have a companion for the drive. Then when we get home, unloading all that into our freezers is a challenge, usually. This time, not so much of a challenge because we were pretty much sold out and the freezers were empty. One was completely empty, so we used the opportunity to clean it thouroughly and move it's location. 

So, freezers are full again! I love having all the cuts everyone wants.  I am hoping to stay stocked up for the remaider of the year. I bought twice as many pigs as I did last year!! Woo Hoo! Thank you so much for supporting our little farm. I am so happy people are learning more about buying local and choosing clean meat instead of mystery meat from the big box stores. You have a choice and we all vote with our dollars. If we want our food supply to change, but must be willing to change how we buy our food. We have so many amazing  farms in the Catawba County area.  

If you want clean, unvaxed, no anti-biotics pork, hurry! Pork Chops go fast, Ribs go even faster and Tenderloins don't even make it to the website they sell out so fast. If you buy from us at the Farmer's Markets, I recommend pre-ordering. You can order online or just message me and I will bring your order to the market for pick up. 

This Saturday is Opening Day of the Conover Farmer's Market, so we will be there 8am-noon. We also have pick up on the farm this Friday 4-6pm.  If you are in the downtown Newton area, don't forget I do Free Delivery every Friday.  My delivery customers also get meal kit options and first notification on inventory.
